Training
A quality training program is necessary to ensure proper utilization of the EHR system. CHCA provides on-site training before implementations to all staff including front office, medical records, technicians, and providers. Prior to each training session, a computer aptitude review is used to update basic computer skill level assessments. The results of that review help to shape participants of a training session with a focus on trying to keep students of similar skill levels together.
Each training session is customized to meet the needs of the organization, typically requiring two full-days for each session, with some sessions extended by a half-day to include supervised practice. These sessions can be held at the member's health center or can be accomodated at CHCA's headquarters in St. Petersburg.
Additionally, via an anonymous feedback mechanism that is reviewed by CHCA’s CEO, providers, nursing staff and other support personnel offer candid feedback into CHCA EHR training programs. To-date, CHCA has a 98% satisfaction rating from its training participants (based upon evaluations completed by each training participant).
CHCA also trains select clinical individuals as “super-users” to be first responders to daily “how-to” questions. Upon completion of every training session, participants are given a competency exam to assure comprehension.
