Implementation & Services

 

No business can afford "down time" while computers are being upgraded – this is a pressing concern for health centers who must continue to provide care to their patients during the time when new tools are added to their workflow. That is why CHCA has concentrated on making the transition to EHR as seamless to providers and their patients as possible, helping insure that projected encounter rates are not adversely impacted.

 

Developing an approach that kept members’ revenue streams at the forefront while building EHR acceptance was a challenge that has been met with success at each member site adopting the system. Working with each health center as they prepare for and embrace EHR is key. CHCA assumes a leadership role, along with member site project leads, to ensure the success of each implementation. This allows sites to focus on their business, not the building of technology.

 

Specific services CHCA provides throughout the project include: 

  • Project management leadership and task level monitoring
  • All end-user training services and materials
  • Technical tips/tricks to local IT personnel to accommodate timely troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with health center IT personnel to ensure the follow-through of local IT efforts in support of training, preload, and go-live needs
  • Provide preload process recommendations and training
  • Provide 24x7 technical support
  • Provide and maintain a comprehensive, secure, and redundant data center environment including backups and off-site storage
  • Perform periodic testing of redundant configurations for disaster recovery compliance
  • Provide help-desk services, request tracking, and reporting
  • Correspond with vendors on all application and technical issues, tracking all communications
  • Conduct technical walk-thru’s prior to on-site training or on-site go-live to ensure minimal technical issues.
  • Provide on-site "go-live" choreography and support
  • Configure, test, and monitor all active interfaces throughout the day and manage errors as necessary
  • Perform all application setup and configuration for each new site (ie location information, providers, etc)
  • Facilitate Clinical Committee and other sub-workgroups such as the QI workgroup
  • Coordinate and ensure standardization across the enterprise in design and utilization
  • Development, testing, and quality assurance of Clinical Committee approved enhancements or new specialty functionality
  • Data integrity monitoring and reporting
  • Provide report writing services and automated report generation
  • Negotiate with vendors on acquisition of hardware and software at the network
  • Ensure all appropriate updates and patches occur on servers and applications in accordance with change management policies
