Florida recently joined 48 other states to become the newest member of 3RNet, a nationally recognized rural recruitment and retention network that assists states with the recruitment of health professionals for rural and underserved areas. Florida’s membership in 3RNet will provide a common web portal for health care practitioners nationwide to identify opportunities in Florida’s rural and underserved communities. It will also allow community organizations that are seeking physicians, dentists, nurses, mental health, EMS, and allied health professionals to post information about specific job opportunities on a central site.
The NHSC is a network of 7,000 primary health care professionals and 10,000 sites as of September 30, 2009 working in underserved communities across the country.
